Pair of armchairs
Circa 1942

Pair of armchairs in rechampi wood featuring ornamentation by Henri Parayre.
The flat rectangular backrest recalls the tradition of the fauteuils à la reine.
The seat belt features a slight rounded projection, and is decorated with a recessed baguette echoing the one found on the backrest.
The armrest, surmounted by armpads, connects to the backrest in a curve.
The armrest consoles designed by Henri Parayre, set back from the front base, have the shape of mermaids.
The four legs of the armchairs are saber-shaped.
