Pair of "Eiffel Tower" stools

A pair of stools with a concave latticework structure in patinated steel painted gunmetal, joined at the intersections by gilded brass balls. Therectangular seat is upholstered.
This pair of stools features the Eiffel Tower motif, which Jean Royère arrived at after incessant research into new combinations. A combination of the lattice and the ball, it first appeared in 1939.

Provenance :
- Collection of Mrs F., Lebanon, circa 1948 - Important collection of Jean Royère, begun in 1948 through Nadim Majdalani, at the occasion of a special order for a complete set, and completed over the years including during Parisian trips.
- Thence by descent.
