The text signed by Professor Maria Cecilia Loschiavo – author of a relevant academic bibliographical work on the subject, originally dated 1995 and reprinted by Olhares – reviews the elements of the genesis of modern Brazilian design and weaves an analysis that leads its origins to its current context of dialogue with art and international appreciation. In addition, there are also biographical profiles of each of the lead designers and two extra chapters, one on architects’ contributions to modern furniture design and the final chapter on other important fabrications, making clear the extent of production in the period.
