Trained at the École des Arts Décoratifs on Rue Beethoven in Paris, Joy de Rohan Chabot, a painter and sculptor, is renowned worldwide. For many years, her works have been sought after by leading international collectors who follow her work with passion and delight. Her long-standing collaboration with Dior Maison and her numerous exhibitions around the world have established her as a leading artist.
Joy de Rohan Chabot has two passions: nature and the decorative arts. That was all it took for this outstanding, multidisciplinary artist to give free rein to her talent across materials as diverse as iron, wood and glass. Under her hands and brushes, dreamlike worlds are born where trompe l’œil flirts with poetry and where nature offers us its finest in an explosion of colour. Through her creations, Joy aims to show that simple materials (iron, bronze, wood, glass) can take on a sophisticated, decorative and timeless identity.
Her main inspiration comes from the imaginary gardens she has dreamt of since her earliest childhood, which form the theme of her main collections of furniture and objects.
She carves the wood herself, polishes the glass, cuts the metal, applies the lacquer, paints the sheet metal, gilds with gold leaf… Joy de Rohan Chabot is a complete artist who conceives a piece and does not abandon it until the very last stroke of the brush or snip of the scissors. She can do it all, from the most technical to the most decorative work.
These creations draw us into the joyful and unexpected world of Joy de Rohan Chabot. Unique, original and extraordinary pieces that appeal to lovers of decorative art and the ever-growing number of people who are passionate about unique and surprising furniture and objects.
