A bronze sculpture with a black patina depicting a majestic stag, nearly life-size.
The tips of the antlers have a slightly golden patina.
This work is signed “Janine Janet” and bears the foundry’s stamp “E. Godard, foundry in Paris”; it is numbered 18/18 and monogrammed “GC,” likely standing for Germaine Cellier.
A similar piece is part of the collection at the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature in Paris.
