Sculpture representing a Shepherd in chamotte clay, modeled, scarified and enameled in polychrome - white, black, brown, blue, yellow and green.
He is shown as elderly, with a white beard and white hair, his eyes closed and kneeling over a lamb and a lantern.
Signed ‘Jean Derval’ on the base.
Height 86 cm (33 7/8 in)
Provenance :
- Probably created around 1965 for the Antibes cathedral’s nativity scene.
- Private collection, France.
