Jean Royère, Living room set
Jean Royère (1902-1981)
Living room set
Circa 1952
Living room set composed by a 3-seat sofa and two armchairs in blue velvet fabric, presented for the first time on the market.
The profile of this set is particularly interesting. Indeed, the large armrest draw an important curve. On the back these armrests are lower that on the front which is given a more important effect of the bulging. This curve line contrasts with the rigorous line of the drawing. From the back, the set shows a broken line between the back and the armrests. The whole stands on large cylindric solid oak feet.
The proportions are remarkable. Each piece is conceived in a sculptural way, each point of view on the pieces offer a new perspective.
