Very rare ‘Etincelles’ ceiling light
Circa 1960
Luminous suspension in light beige talosel created in the 1960s. This celling light is composed in its centre of a brown iridescent mirror through which is spread light. All around it is displayed a succession of brass rods, in an ‘umbrella’ shape, ended with very beautiful tablets, called also ‘sequins’ inlayed with silvery mirrors. These sequins are of an exceptional size and constitute a ring of a multitude of mirror circles brightened in different silver nuances, some of them are crystallized, the set giving form to a poetic, delicate and magic effect. After two decades of work and research on Line Vautrin, it is the first time I have the opportunity to propose this rare suspension. A mirror of a very close model is reproduced page 2 in Line Vautrin, Miroirs, the book edited by the gallery in 2004.
