Floor lamp in bronze with a brown patina. The bole is decorated with a stylised star. Three fl attened bangles give rhythm to the bole. Tripod base. Non-original lamps-hade. Alberto Giacometti created this model for Jean-Michel Frank circa 1936.
This floor lamp is monogrammed ‘AG’ and numbered ‘063’ on one leg and signed ‘A.Giacometti’. It comes with its certificate from the Giacometti’s committee and is registered by the Fondation Giacometti in the online database under the number 4711.
As part of their collaboration with the Jean-Michel Frank, the Giacometti brothers knew how to ‘make a piece of furniture so that we saw a sculpture there.’ (Françoise Francisci, writer and author of a book on Diego Giacometti).
Height of the bronze bole 148,5 cm (58 1⁄2 in)
